Nicole has completed the White Belt & Blue Belt trainings and is based at Maroubra Beach & teaches weekly in Bondi Junction in the Eastern Suburbs, Sydney.

Nicole only did one Nia class before doing her White Belt Training. She knew instantly it was what she was meant to do as she had been looking for many years for ways to self heal & move with joy in new ways.  She shared, “I feel like Goldilocks! I tried so many different things & now I’ve found Nia, I know it’s just right!

I loved dancing as a child but as my body changed I didn’t fit the narrow view of what a dancer should ‘look like’ (ie I got boobies & hips!) and was discouraged from continuing by the actual teachers which baffled me.

I always enjoyed dancing and different kinds of movement but I also struggled with different body ailments, and it often felt like it was “one thing after another”!

Discovering Nia completely changed my view of pain & what I could do.  I could still have pains or stiffness and still enjoy movement & dance. I didn’t have to be perfect. What a revelation! I could move my body all kinds of ways that felt wonderful if I just worked with my body, and did it “my body’s way” which is the cornerstone of Nia.

Since my Nia White Belt Training I have never danced so much in my life. I am so much more at ease with myself & my body.  Nia is such a gift – it has offered me a way to choose joyful movement from where I AM in each present moment.

I have been looking for a way to contribute that has felt aligned with my journey & beliefs. To help others feel the joy of movement from where they ARE, wherever that is. A way to feel joy & freedom, no matter their flexibility or range of movement.

Nia feels GOOD to the body, & does not encourage the ‘no pain no gain’ philosophy of movement. You can get conditioning, fitness & health by truly enjoying the movements of this dance practice.

I am deeply grateful to have found Nia and so excited to share this.

Come dance with me 🙂
